ComPAS is an SQL-based multi-user application that can run either stand-alone or on a sophisticated multi-station hospital network. It uses merge replication design to minimize network issues and allow for continued testing in the event of network failure or speed degradation.

When configured to use merge replication, a merge agent is constantly synchronizing data across the network. Reports stored on the network are available offline using the Windows offline files capability. The report files are automatically downloaded from shared folders on the network and stored on each computer. When disconnected from the network, the files are available to use.
