ScreenStar Features & Specifications

ScreenStarScreenStar is a disposable lightweight pneumotachograph that provides clinical accuracy for measurements of Simple Spirometry, Flow Volume Loops, Maximum Voluntary Ventilation and Bronchial Challenge. The instrument connects easily via the serial port to any PC running on a Windows® operating system. ScreenStar works in conjunction with the powerful yet easy to use ComPAS® software.

Applications

ScreenStar is ideal for Office Spirometry, Industrial Screening, Epidemiological Field Testing and Bedside Evaluations. ScreenStar is an ideal ‘partner’ to complement a Morgan pulmonary function laboratory network. It can be utilized as a testing station to supplement the PFT system, or it can be sent out for mobile testing with all information being archived on the network.

Special Features

ScreenStarSince the disposable ScreenStar mouthpieces are fully isolated from any spirometry circuit, there is no need for bacterial/viral filters. The mouthpieces are extremely light and ergonomically designed to suit all patients ranging from the very young to full adult. Simple, yet discerning calibration. The ComPAS® software guides the user through a calibration technique that guarantees compliance with recognized testing standards. Clear, straightforward screen layouts are enhanced by pictorial guides. At any time during testing, a threeliter syringe can be used for absolute quality assurance. The syringe values are stored, time-stamped and can be presented on the final report. Comprehensive help and tutorial screens are available from any menu of ComPAS®. Obtaining meaningful, reliable, pulmonary function test results has never been guided so clearly.

Beautifully designed final report presentations

Having completed tests with the ScreenStar the physician can be presented with a report suited to their requirements. Reports can include the best results from patient efforts together with past test data from previous visits and a computer impression. The computer impression can be edited by the physician to conclude with a final clinical interpretation. If desired a summary of each test effort can be shown and also the quality assurance information. In short the ComPAS® reports are second to none and can be customized to be as simple or complex as the customer desires.

At last, high quality pulmonary function testing that is as easy as:

  1. ComPAS Screen ImagesA simple [Spacebar] begins all tests.
  2. When the flow volume maneuver is completed, the software checks the loop against the ATS recommended PERFORMANCE criteria. If the loop meets these test standards, a hollow check mark confirms the effort.
  3. Once three flow volume loops have been completed that meet the ATS REPRODUCIBILITY criteria then the hollow checks become solid and you are assured of excellence in testing standards

In far too many designs of pulmonary function products utilizing a Windows® operating system, users are presented with confusing and time consuming screens. ComPAS® is a suite of software that displays clear meaningful information while gently directing the technician towards excellence.
